One of the boots on the driver side axle shaft is torn and flinging grease so I need to replace the axle shaft. Found a great video on YouTube for replacing them. However, there is a spring washer and spacer behind the hub that the guy in the video said is a 1 time use. I cannot find a new one online anywhere. I do not know the part number or the "official" name of it. Anyone know what the name of the part is or better yet, the part number?

I suppose I could just try reusing the one on there, but I plan on keeping the car for a long time so I want to do it right.

Didn't even catch that. I am not sure what I was thinking. I should know better that this is not our back end, but that is what came up in the GM site........DUH.

Try this instead.

Yes, that's the washer. My new axle did not include one.

Thanks for posting that pic. Put it on a facebook group and got part number 11611965.

EDITED TO ADD: Apparently, that is the part number for V8 & V6 manual only. V6 auto has different axle shafts. I have the manual, so I'm set.
