Just intalled a K&N Typhoon CAI on my 2010 LS Camaro (46k miles) and after running for about a week my check engine light has come on. No other modifications, no tune (yet). Any ideas or is this because of the CAI?

swing by an autozone and have them scan it for free or have a friend who has a scanner check the code. Could be the intake, or could be coincidence that it happened after the install but it is something else. Check the code and let us know, then we can help you out some more. :)

Yes, I have heard the CEL caused by the K&N is because the filter is too small which actually restricts the amount of air to the engine.

Went by auto zone and the code read. P0449- evaporative emission system. They suggested that the gas cap wasn't on tight but it was/is. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

did they clear it to see if the light returns for you? May have to smoke test one of the lines and see if there is a leak somewhere

Had the code cleared and it came back on after a few minutes of driving.

gonna have to smoke test the system and see if there is a vac line or fuel vapor line leaking somewhere. Could also be a stuck emissions valve as well

And check the evap connection on the passenger side of the IM about 1/2 way back to make sure nothing is loose. K&N should not cause the evap code......
