Just a reminder about this oft-forgotten filter. I changed mine this weekend after 22,000 miles. It was nasty. Only takes a couple of minutes to change out.

Pop the hood, remove the 3 plastic fasteners holding the cover (located at the cowl on passenger side), lift the cover, press the 2 tabs on filter retaining cap, pull old filter out, and reverse the process. The filter is labelled for the direction of air-flow so note the orientation when removing the old filter and install the new filter in the proper orientation (air-flow arrow was pointing towards the rear of the car).

Indeed a good reminder. I will look to replace mine soon, as I am closing in on 21,000 miles myself.

I changed mine today. See viewtopic.php?f=6&t=407 for some photos that shows the how to photos. Find my post dated 8/8/2011.

Here is why you need to change these once a year or sooner than 21,000 miles.

Do you have to pick those up from the dealership? I haven't seen them at pepboys or autozone for our car

I bought mine from the http://www.gmpartshouse.com. I went and bought 2 of them, but they weren't 15 bucks each. That is a very good price.
